Crafted in calf leather, the Marlowe offers a more structured fit than many of our other loafers. Designed to be worn with a thin sock, we'd expect it to feel comfortably snug on your first try-on. The leather will gradually soften with wear, though the structured silhouette will remain.
We've found the Marlowe has a closer fit across the instep. If you have a higher instep or know you prefer a more accommodating fit, we'd recommend taking a look at The James Loafer or The Studio Loafer, which might be a better match.

"I initially purchased my typical size of US 7. 5, but they were a bit tight. I sized up to the 8 and they are perfect! Required very little break in time and they are simply gorgeous. These are my 5th pair of Margaux shoes/boots and I love them all!"

"Like many people I have a difficult foot to fit—especially with slip-on shoes staying on. This loafer comes the closest to anything I’ve tried that could work. I was hopeful when I ordered a half-size smaller in this shoe as per the website’s recommendation but the loafer was uncomfortably short in length. I exchanged them for my regular size but with a narrow width. This was more comfortable but there is a little slippage in my heels with a slight gap at the back and on the inner edge of my foot. Lightweight socks help but in time, I would likely need heavier socks as the shoes will stretch. A lot of reviews mentioned the shoe runs narrow. I don’t have a lot foot volume, wear a medium width, and was fine with both the narrow and the medium widths—depending on the length chosen. Sadly, I don’t think this style is a good choice for me. It’s gorgeous comfortable and supportive but I still need shoes with ties or straps in their structure to get the best fit."

"Wonderfully made shoe with leather. I was able to insert my orthotic without any issues which helps since I have a high instep. Customer service was very responsive in trying to help with sizing. My only suggestion is, have the actual measurements (length and width) of the shoe available online to help customers select sizing. This would prevent returns and having to outlay a lot of funds to get right sizing."
"I really wanted these shoes to work but couldn’t make them work. I got the 7. 5 N and the heel was too wide and my heel slipped. I then ordered the 7 N and that fit perfectly except in the length. I really wanted these shoes to work for me but they just didn’t. Very attractive design. I will also say that I was disappointed in the quality of the leather and found it very stiff and it showed bend marks."
